Every year, almost 120,000 Early Times Mint Juleps are served over the two-day period of the Kentucky Oaks® and Kentucky Derby®.
- The Kentucky Derby race is commonly referred to as “the greatest two minutes in sports.”
- 60,000 pounds of ice is required to create the Early Times Mint Juleps served during the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby.
- Twelve Kentucky Derby winners have also sired Kentucky Derby winners.
- During the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby weekend 1,000 pounds of freshly harvested mint and 10,000 bottles of Early Times Mint Julep Ready-to-Serve Cocktail are used.
- Only three-year-old thoroughbred horses can compete in the Kentucky Derby.
- There are now a total of nine Early Times Mint Julep commemorative bottle wraps.
